We're still here

We've been having a good summer and just haven't taken the time to blog much.

Zack and I attended the wedding of one of my childhood friends (we've known each other since we were 9 years old). Gina was a beautiful bride, and I'm so happy for her new husband Ben! I also got to see my dear friend Amy (she was my matron of honor) at the wedding.

We went to the lake last weekend. William and I stayed a couple of extra days, and he had lots of fun playing with his cousins.

Thanks to facebook, I was able to reunite with one of my oldest friends. I honestly don't remember a time when Maria and I didn't know each other - that's how far we go back. I think we were in the nursery together at church! She and her sons came over for a visit. The boys had a great time playing, and we had a great time catching up.

We're spending a week in Alabama with Zack. He has a training class, and we're going to hang out and explore a new place during the day while he learns :)I'll try to post some news and pictures while we're there, but no promises!

Vacation

We had a fantastic time on vacation last week! We went on a 5-night cruise with our friends Mike, Nicole, and Cole (Mike and Zack coach soccer together). This was our first cruise, and I'll admit we were a bit skeptical about the idea of spending vacation on a boat...

We boarded the ship on Saturday afternoon, and spent Sunday at sea. We enjoyed some time in the sun and exploring the ship. The boys also spent a little time at the kids' club, where they played games and made some cool souvenirs.

We spent Monday in Progreso Yucatan. We toured a bit of the city of Merida, then explored the Dzibilchaltun ruins. We finished our visit with lunch at a beachside restaurant.

Tuesday we were in Cozumel - what a beautiful place! We found a good snorkeling package once we got off the boat, and within a few minutes we were at a resort and gearing up for the water. We had a great guide with us that made our snorkeling adventure even better. Then we spent the afternoon at the resort, enjoying the pool, beach, and restaurant.

Wednesday was back at sea. We relaxed and enjoyed our last day with sun, karaoke, and lots of good food! It was a great trip, and I imagine we'll be looking into cruises for future vacations!

The Swimmer

We went to Hartwell last Saturday to visit Savannah (Zack's brother's girlfriend) and her family. We had so much fun hanging out at the pool, riding on the boat, and enjoying yummy food!

Thanks to our sweet friends for an awesome day! William loved all the water fun and especially had a great time with Ella Kate.

Toothless

William's two front teeth have been loose for quite a while now. Last week he fell while riding his scooter and knocked one of them out.











The second one was hanging on by a thread and taking FOREVER. We're leaving for vacation on Saturday so we told William he had to have it out before we left. Finally (with a little help), it came out last night!



Even without the teeth, he's still adorable.



Ignore the orange mess on his face. I'd just picked some lillies from the backyard and he wanted to smell them, and the pollen went everywhere :)
