Our latest adventures

This will be a somewhat chronological update, so be sure to read all the way through to find out the latest...

Our visits continue to go well. We bought a 60-pc puzzle and took it yesterday. William & Elvis did great putting it together, and both were very patient with the process.

Our visits are from around 10 - 12 each day. We usually return to the apartment around 12:30 and have lunch. Yesterday we ran to the grocery store, then came back and had some yummy pizza bread that had just been baked at the grocery.

As we were cleaning up, I noticed a few drops of water coming from our hall ceiling. Two minutes later, the whole hall ceiling was pouring water. We found buckets & pots and tried to catch the water as best we could.

Earlier in the day the water had been turned off. Our landlady came by and explained that the lady upstairs had left her water faucets on (maybe the one that goes to the washer?) and when the water was turned back on, it flooded. She was grateful for our quick thinking, and a few minutes after she spoke with the neighbor, the flood subsided.

Last night we decided to walk to our favorite pizza place for dinner. It's about a 30-minute walk from our apartment, but very enjoyable this time of year to be out and about.

We ordered a pizza, a bowl of borscht, a greek salad, and 2 big drinks - all for less than $11.00! It was ochin f'koosnu (very yummy!).

When we drove up to the orphanage today, they were having what appeared to be a party. All the kids were sitting outside, and the workers were doing activities, including balloon games, bubbles, and a puppet show.

So we sat down and joined them. And Elvis quickly came to sit with his big brother.

The first day we came to the orphanage, I noticed a huge box in the entryway that looked to contain a swimming pool.
Yesterday, we noticed it was being set up. And today, they were using it for some of the games.

You can see our little man in the greent hat. They were taking turns throwing beach balls in the pool, and the workers would splash them with the water.

They also took turns letting the workers put them in the water for a minute.

It was fun watching our Elvis and all the other little ones having so much summer fun!

Finally, thanks for all the prayers about our interpol clearance. It was received today, and we are on schedule to have court this coming Tuesday at 11 AM local time. Praise God!!

Awesome! So glad your clearance came.

I love it that they seem to have the kids best interest in mind and let them have summer time fun. I am missing Ukraine this time of year. Isn't the weather perfectly lovely?

The pizza meal looks and sounds delicious!

So glad things are moving right along.
