Today we pray for our SDA Appointment. We pray that we will awake that morning, refreshed and ready for the day. We pray for peace and wisdom as we enter the SDA (the State Department of Adoption - where we'll meet with Ukrainian adoption officials).
We pray for the SDA workers we'll encounter - that they will be kind and helpful, and will understand what (who) we're seeking. We pray that they will listen and recognize what is best for our family, and that God will guide their words and actions.
We pray for the children whose profiles we'll be shown. Regardless of the outcome that day, we pray for each of them: that God will lead a family to adopt them and raise them with love and kindness.
We ask God to show us our child or children during our appointment on June 16. We pray for clarity. May He use tangible ways to show us which child(ren) we are to pursue.
Tangible ways - that might sound odd to some. But if you know our journey to William, you know how God led us so clearly to our son. He was the last of 7 profiles we were shown. Prior to his picture being shown to us, we didn't feel leading us to any of the first 6 children we were shown. But then William's file came out. He looked remarkably like pictures of Zack when he was little. And he had the same birthday as Zack's brother. And as soon as we saw his picture, we had no more anxiety, no more worries. God gave us peace, and we knew we'd found the child He'd chosen for us.
In whatever way God chooses, I pray He will once again give us that sense of peace and clarity when we lay eyes on the picture of our child(ren) this time around.
And throughout this critical first step, I pray that God will be glorified.
Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up,
left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.

Jenn,
I have been praying for and with you each day of the 11 days so far, and for many before that. Thank you for sharing your particular prayer needs. I will continue to be in prayer for you as you make the journey to Ukraine!
Thanks for your prayers for us, too, as we continue to WAIT. Ugh. I'm so glad that the wait is almost over for your beautiful family!
