We explored Kyiv a little bit today, and bought a few souvenirs.
Here's a picture inside St. Andrew's.
William with a couple of his souvenirs
We were set to meet 4 or 5 other families for dinner tonight.
So we started walking, after being told the restaurant was about 15 minutes from our apartment.
We walked for about 30 - 40 minutes, and were having no luck. While walking, Zack took this picture. Then we proceeded to walk at least another mile. We gave up and turned around to head back.
Thankfully, Gretchen & her facilitator called and met us at a street corner we both knew, and escorted us back to the restaurant. The restaurant is just outside of this intersection.
Yeah, we were that close.
I got to meet Christine Reed - seems we've known each other for years via blog, and now we're "real life friends" :)

So awesome getting to meet you and your family. Looking forward to more tomorrow. There is a nice pizza place right by us or maybe you guys can come and I can make us something for lunch. We brought some really fun games and our apartment is big enough. See you in the morning!
I think that getting to meet other adopting families while you're there is such fun as well as a huge blessing. Glad you got to meet up with others! (Esp. Christine, who I'd also love to meet!)
Oh how I wish we were there! It sounds like you had a great day and I love William's souveniers!
Does he remember any Russian/Ukrainian? My guess is no, since kids pick up languages so quickly... but just curious.
Glad you made it safely! Can't wait to hear all about your SDA appointment. How fun to meet up with so many other families!
Just re-read your Day 11: SDA App't prayer requests and said a big AMEN! We'll be praying for you as you go there tomorrow. Can't wait to hear about it!
Prayers are being lifted up!!!! Your blog is bringing back so many memories! I felt the same way as you did when you said you realized you missed Ukraine as you were driving to your apartment. I know exactly what you mean. Tell "L" I said "Hi" What kind of vehicle is he driving now? He seems to always be getting a new one. LOL
Good Luck in the morning!!!!
A Ukranian soccer ball!!! Very cool!!!
Oh...I do remember when we were in Ukraine we walked for MILES and HOURS before someone finally told us where Fridays was! I wouldn't stop looking because I was so homesick.
I can't wait to hear about the appointment!! We are praying for you!
