God knows the child (or children) that will join our family... He's always known.
We already know that we will be adding to our family in the coming weeks.
But the child(ren) has NO IDEA.
They are most likely very content in their little world. They know how things work. They know the language. They know the routine. It may not be perfect, but it's their normal. And we're about to take all their normal away.
I pray that there is a caregiver that has taken special interest in their well-being and cares deeply about them. I pray our child(ren) has an emotional attachment to at least one caregiver. (might sound crazy, but this is actually a very positive indicator of their ability to bond with us)
I pray that they will accept us as their Daddy, Mommy, and brother. I pray that there will be positive attachment and a smooth transition as they begin to learn what it means to be a part of a forever family.
And I pray for their salvation. Even now, I pray that seeds are being planted, and that they will one day make the decision that Daddy, Mommy, & big brother William made to accept Jesus as their Lord & Savior.
