On Friday, Daniel will be 6 and we'll celebrate at home. On Saturday, he'll have what is likely his very first birthday party. Lots of excitement coming up this weekend, which means I should have some fun things to share next week!

My son came to the US the month after his birthday. In fact, though we didn't know it at the time, we arrived in Ukraine 2 days after his 9th birthday. So, he got to celebrate EVERYTHING before his birthday. Christmas was exciting for him, but he wasn't interested in doing family things, and he wasn't interested in the gifts he got till he got around to opening the gifts he had really wanted - then he liked everything. I hope the two boys are doing wonderfully together. My two...not so much. But, they are 10 and 13. Maybe when they are both in their 20's it will be different.

Hi Jenn, thanks for the comment you recently left on my blog, and thank you especially for the prayers. Yes, things are improving with Slava. I agree with your post "He Wanted ME". I definitely have found that tending to Slava...and Jordan too when they are sick helps them to trust us more and know that we will take care of them. You've got some handsome boys there. And thanks too for the heads up on the glasses situation. I no sooner got Slava's 2nd pair when my husband suggest Andrii get a new pair. His lenses are very scratched up. Here we go again!!!
