Reece's Rainbow: Many of you have seen the link on our side bar to Reece's Rainbow. Reece's Rainbow promotes the adoption of children with DS from all over the world. In addition, there is a section of their site called Other Angels that seeks to find families for other children that are available for adoption.
Right now, you can participate in the Angel Tree project. For a minimum $35 donation, you contribute to the adoption grant of a specific child. International adoption is expensive, and your donation will help fulfill the dreams of a child and a family. You will also receive a Christmas ornament with the child's photo on it, so you can continue to pray for that child and his/her forever family.
New Horizons for Children: This non-profit is based in Acworth, Georgia. They provide humanitarian aid to orphanages in Eastern Europe, and they also offer families in America the opportunity to host Eastern European children in their homes for a period of 4 - 5 weeks, giving the child a chance to experience a new culture, learn a new language, and most importantly, experience what it's like to a be a part of a loving family. You can support this organization with prayer, financial gifts, or by hosting a child. http://www.newhorizonsforchildren.org/
Frontier Horizon: This ministry supports the orphans of Ukraine and Nicaragua. Much like New Horizons, they provide aid to orphanages and they participate in hosting programs. You can support this organization with prayer, financial gifts, or by hosting a child. http://www.frontierhorizon.org/
There are many other organizations out there. If you know of others (that are legitimate and reputable), I encourage you to post them in the comments section of this blog post.
Please continue to think, talk, and pray about how YOU can support children in need of a family!
Also, I was tagged by Michelle over at http://fromnctoukraine.blogspot.com/. I'm supposed to share 7 random or weird things about myself, so here goes...
- I like to ROYGBIV my closet (i.e. I prefer my clothes to be grouped by color), but I've fallen down on the job over the past year
- I've been on a number of talk shows, including Good Morning America and Good Day Atlanta
- I don't have an appendix, but I never had appendicitis (sp?)
- I like to dip french fries in vanilla ice cream
- When I was 18 I had the distinct honor of laying a wreath on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier
- In fourth grade, I was tripped and lost 1 1/2 of my 2 front teeth
- I'm claustrophobic, but I do much better with it these days

You never had appendicitis, but maybe they took your appendix out when they were operating for another reason- so they just grabbed it. I don't know if they still do this, but I know they used to all the time.
I wondered if you were tagging me, but the link wasn't correct so I wasn't sure. I'll try to do this tonight or tomorrow. :)
BTW, check out my blog tonight for an update. :(
So, what were you on GMA and Good Day Atlanta for? I didn't know you were a celeb! :)
Oh, and have you ever tried dipping fries into a Wendy's Frosty, it is awesome!
