EDITED TO ADD: Always read the fine print on certificates before purchasing. There are minimums that you must spend. Most are $10 more than the value of the certificate. And most will limit the days that you can use them (i.e. you can only use them during the week).
But I find that it's worth if it's somewhere you go anyway, or if it's for a place you've been wanting to try but didn't want to take the plunge with the whole pocketbook!

I just got us $40 at Just Fresh for $2.40. :)
the catch is that to use a $10 gift certificate you have to have a minimum purchase of $20. But that is not a "CATCH" in our situation because with a family of 5, soon to be 6, we'll get the benefit of $10 free after we easily spend $20. :)
I'm not sure if that's how it worked for all the restaurants but we eat at this one anyway when we do go out so I only checked it.

I use it for lunch at a couple of restaurants my DH and I go. We usually go on his off day during the week and we don't have a problem getting to the minimum. Well, that's not true. We would usually spend about $18 (the sandwiches are $7-8) at one place without a discount, but if we get a drink and get us over $20, we end up spending about $11 for lunch with the GC. I love restaurant.com and especially the discount codes!! :)
