One year ago today, we met our little man. We were sitting in the director's office and had just received every bit of information she had on him. She made a quick call, and within a couple of minutes one of the care givers walked in with a very shy, very tiny little boy. He walked across the room, staring at the floor, and stopped in front of me. He looked up, gave a half smile, and quietly asked "Как вас зовут?" (what is your name).
I think that was the last time he ever showed any shyness around us.
We went outside and played, and shared some treats. And we verbally expressed our desire to add this little one into our family.

And we were all back home anxiously waiting for the first pics of our new grandson. What a sweet blessing he is to all of us! Can't believe it's only been a year....seems like we've had him forever. :-)
Wow-- a year already! Thanks for the reminder. What a long way your little guy has come!
One year! That picnic ramada is familiar to me!
Wow,a year already. He has grown so much! I remember running to the computer each day to watch for your posts last summer. Praise God for both of your little guys!
As adoptive parents it is painful leaving so many other children behind but together we are making a difference. I love the early pics of one more happy-happy Sonechko kiddo heading HOME! Your family will always hold a place in our hearts. Happy one year! Paula & Family
