BRRRRRRR!!!!

In case you haven't heard, the south is experiencing a deep freeze unlike anything we've had in recent history (some say the coldest spell we've had in 15 - 25 years). The past 8 nights we've had lows in the teens or low twenties. We got up this morning, and our thermometer was reading 9.9! (Fahrenheit!!)

I always say if it's going to be this cold, I wish we'd see a little of the white stuff. And on Thursday afternoon, I got my wish - a VERY little bit of the white stuff.

There wasn't a ton of snow & sleet to fall, but enough to make a mess when the temps went back into the teens overnight. All metro schools closed on Friday, so I worked from home and spent the day with my boy.

We spent at least 10 minutes putting on layers before going out - and only lasted about 10 minutes outside. It was 16 degrees, and the wind was whipping!

Back inside, I had warm towels in the dryer so he could wrap up, and we sipped on hot tea.
