William and SantaWe have lots to do this week as we begin to prepare our dossier. But one task in particular has me with knots in my stomach: our dossier medicals.
In my opinion, this is by far the most stressful part of the adoption preparations. Back in 2007 when we went for our dossier medical exams, it took us a total of ELEVEN (11!) visits to our doctor's office to get them right. That doesn't count the visits for our home study medicals, stopping by to get the letterhead for our dossier medicals, and returning for vaccinations and prescriptions just before going to Ukraine.
If you have a moment, please pray for us this week. Zack and I go tomorrow for our medical exams. Pray that the staff there will recognize the urgency and importance of this, and that they will treat the situation with a bit of compassion.
And please pray as we try to get a few other documents checked off the list this week. They are not necessarily difficult to obtain, but it does take some planning when both of us work full time!

Try going in with a copy that is completly filled out exactly how it needs to be - that's what I did with my second round (when we had to update) and see if the doctor will just sign it. Less work on everybody's part.
What we did was have a copy that was filled out exactly as we wanted it and our doctor wrote the same on his. (Actually I think it was sticky notes stuck on the real one.)
Praying all goes well. I really don't like the paperwork part. :( Hope it is all smooth sailing to get you to Ukraine at just the right time.

Praying for you too! You know our last adoption paperwork ended with me in the hospital after getting the wrong vaccine as a skin Tb test! Praying yours goes more smoothly! Dear God please give them staff that will LISTEN, Doctors that will RESPOND and everyone to be HELPFUL,EFFICIENT and EXPEDITE the process! Amen!
